He is. Like him or hate him, the man is open and honest about his thoughts on making the world a better place. After games, Tebow can be seen thanking every player, coach, and fan, giving praise to every person except himself. He may not be the best player (except in the 4th quarter with less than two minutes to go), but he's one of the kindest. Regardless of your religion or favorite football team, you have to respect that Tim Tebow is a little magical.
The Tim Tebow Foundation was inspired during his football days at The University of Florida to raise funds for needed projects such as cancer centers and special trips for disadvantaged children. His foundation's four main focuses are:
- The W15H Program: granting wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses
- CURE International Partnership: bringing physical and spiritual healing to poor children around the world
- Timmy's Playrooms: creating playrooms in hospitals
- Uncle Dick's Orphanage: serving homeless and abandoned children in the Philippines
Rick Reilly, an ESPN columnist, published a story today: "I believe in Tim Tebow." Reilly is right -- it isn't just about what happens on the field that is important, but what happens when the Superbowl is over. In Tebow's words: "The game doesn't really matter. I mean, I'll give 100 percent of my heart to win it, but in the end, the thing I most want to do is not win championships or make a lot of money, it's to invest in people's lives, to make a difference."
The Tim Tebow Foundation exists to bring faith, hope, and love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need. The Tim Tebow Foundation utilizes the public platform that God has blessed Tim Tebow with to inspire and make a difference in peoples lives throughout the world.
