Pencils of Promise: Party with a Purpose

Education is a basic human right.  Pencils of Promise has seen that one pencil to a small child opens a world of possibilities and change.  PoP believes "that education is not just about building schools, it's about long-term impact and keeping the opportunity to learn alive."  This organization first goes into a community to learn about the people, talk to the locals, and understand the education needs in the area.  From there, PoP works with the community to identify a Promise Committee of eight individuals who agree to support and oversee the project.  This committee and the entire village "dedicate their time and their goods to the creation of their school, ensuring that it is not a handout, but rather a standing source of local pride."

Pencils of Promise believes that "a generation empowered will empower the world."  Therefore, they have teamed up with Philanthro Productions to host 7 parties in 7 cities across the US -- Philanthro's San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, as well as Dallas, Denver, Boston, and New York.  Dance the night away while making new friends and raising money for schools -- a philanthropic party no matter where you live on Saturday, November 13!
